The remanufactured Sakura Accu-Cut SRM 200 Rotary Microtome is a manually operated retracting rotary microtome developed by Sakura Finetek for the preparation of thin sections in routine and research histology. It is designed to section soft materials embedded in paraffin, as well as harder specimens that remain suitable for manual sectioning, delivering reproducible precision with comfortable, ergonomic operation.

Sectioning is performed manually by rotating the smooth-running handwheel in the clockwise direction, with section thickness selected on a control knob and shown on a visual display. A coarse feed wheel handles rapid specimen advance, while a mechanical trimming lever provides fast 10 µm and 50 µm trimming steps. A built-in specimen retraction feature pulls the specimen back 220 µm on the return stroke to protect both the blade and the specimen, and three-axis specimen orientation plus lateral displacement of the blade holder base let labs align blocks precisely and use the full length of the blade edge.

The advance and vertical stroke mechanisms run on backlash-free, maintenance-free cross-roller guides, and a housing protects the entire micrometer feeding mechanism. Every Accu-Cut SRM 200 from Medical Equipment Source is fully remanufactured, tested, and ready for use right after installation — the proven performance of a Sakura rotary microtome at a fraction of the price of a new unit.

Key Features:

  • Manually operated retracting rotary microtome for paraffin-embedded and harder specimens in routine and research histology

  • Smooth-running handwheel for manual, clockwise sectioning with excellent tactile control

  • Section thickness selected by a control knob with a visual display (0.5 – 60 µm range)

  • Mechanical trimming function activated by a lever, with 10 µm and 50 µm trimming steps

  • Dedicated coarse feed wheel for rapid specimen advance

  • Specimen retraction (220 µm) protects both blade and specimen during the return stroke

  • Three-axis specimen orientation (horizontal 8°, vertical 8°, rotation 90°) for precise block alignment

  • Lateral displacement of the blade holder base (north/south and east/west) for full use of the blade edge

  • Backlash-free, maintenance-free cross-roller guides on the advance and vertical stroke mechanisms

  • Compatible with high- and low-profile disposable microtome blades, with adjustable blade holder clearance angle (0 – 10°)

  • Universal cassette clamp with adapter and orientation attachment for secure, precise specimen positioning

Applications:

  • Preparation of thin sections in routine and research histology laboratories

  • Sectioning of paraffin-embedded specimens

  • Sectioning of harder specimens that remain suitable for manual sectioning

  • Specimen trimming (10 µm and 50 µm steps) and continuous manual sectioning
